The Government of India donated two million rand to the Nelson Mandela Foundation. The decision to make the donation was made following the visit to South Africa by Prime Minister of India H. E. Mr. Narendra Modi in July 2016
The Nelson Mandela Foundation with the Graça Machel Trust, Kuhluka Movement, and Zoleka Mandela Foundation hosted an event as part of the "Remembrance period" to mark five years since Madiba’s passing and to recognize the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence.
The event aimed at focusing on purposefully create a caring society that prioritizes women and adolescents and creates the conditions for a dignified life, in a society like South Africa where the murder rate of women is three times the global average and 68.5% of women have experienced some form of sexual violence.

The 11th of February 2020 marked the 30th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's release from Victor Verster prison. The Nelson Mandela Foundation together with its partners the Imbumba Foundation and the Kolisi Foundation launched the #Each1Feed1 Digital Voucher in Potchefstroom, North West Province. The launch was in partnership with Boxer Superstores and Pick ‘n Pay. From Potchefstroom, the partnership team moved to communities in and around Klerksdorp which are suffering from extreme poverty and inequality. A total of 2 000 #Each1Feed1 food packs were delivered, each one designed to support a family for approximately a month.
