The legacy of Nelson Mandela was given wings with the unveiling of the Mandela Day logo by South African Airways (SAA) on the first aircraft of its entire fleet. The new branded A330-200 Airbus, fourth out of six new aircraft, was revealed to sponsors and the media at the airways’ technical park in Johannesburg. Members of the "Bikers for International Mandela Day" contingent met at the Nelson Mandela Foundation to discuss the rally route, the ethos of Mandela Day and safety precautions involved in 2011 Bikers for Mandela Day event, The Bikers for Mandela Day will depart from Montecasino, Johannesburg, on July 11. Their eight-day ride will end in Tshwane on July 18– Mandela Day.

South African author Chris van Wyk was at the launch, held at the READ Educational Trust in Johannesburg. “I’ve been looking forward to this day – I was very honoured when asked to write this book,” said Van Wyk.
