The subseries consists of 12 printed desk calendars with handwritten notes covering the period between 1976 and 1989. The years 1978 and 1985 are missing from the collection. The calendars were used as a diary by Nelson Mandela while in prison and contain entries concerning matters such as visits, dreams, films, books, personal health and politics.
On 6 September 2014, right in the middle of National Literacy Week, students and educators at Skeen Primary School in Alexandra township, Johannesburg, celebrated the opening of the school’s Mandela Day container library. The library is the 49th facility of it kind to open since the launch of the Mandela Day container library project in 2012.

Happy Science, a Tokyo-based international religious organisation, handed over a Mandela Day Container Library to Tshifudi Primary School in Tshifudi Village, Vhembe Municipality, Limpopo, in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation (NMF). This subseries consists of 11 folders of notes written by Nelson Mandela on a variety of sheets of paper, including notebooks and diaries. It covers the period from his release from prison in 1990 to his retirement as President of South Africa in 1999, and up to 2001. It consists of notes of meetings, draft speeches, briefing notes and notes written to himself.

"The concert" was the first 46664 concert, this was held in Greenpoint stadium Cape Town, South Africa. Recorded from videotapes from 46664/1 to videotape 46664/55. The videotapes are in folders 1 and 2. Each videotape is recorded in three formats. The first format being the use copy MP4. format followed by the MOV. format which has a higher quality followed by the MXF which is broadcast quality. The reason for this is to provide for use copies and also to provide for broadcast quality whenever it is needed.
