The Nelson Mandela Foundation invited Chief Khosi Vho Ravele R.R., five learners and five coordinators from Maulume Village to visit the Nelson Mandela Foundation and other legacy sites within Johannesburg. The trip was to give the learners an opportunity to learn about the history of their country as future leaders.

An international artist Ms Sarah Gusten-Marr donates a painting to the Imbumba Foundation in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Trek4Mandela expedition. In celebrating the memory and legacy of Nelson Mandela, the Gauteng City Region, City of Tshwane in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation hosted Mandela Remembrance walk and run event in the Union Buildings. The event was held virtually on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December, with just a small number of people observing all COVID protocols and gathering at the Union Buildings to do a symbolic 6.7 kilometre walk through the streets of Tshwane in his memory and also to remember all the lives lost globally to the Coronavirus in 2020.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation and Joburg City Parks & Zoo have collaborated to commemorate the 9th anniversary of the passing of Madiba. Over the years, the Foundation has marked the event through dialogue on critical social issues. This year the celebration was marked by a special Nelson Mandela Day convening, opening a park in the Riverlea community. The park will stand in honour of Madiba's legacy, and the values that he espoused. It will be the tangible site for our One Million Tree Campaign, which aims to promote environmental justice, and food security and mitigate the impact of climate change.

This item consists of a series of the 46664 HIV/AIDS campaigns and concerts held from 2003 up to 2008. The first concert was held in Cape Town, followed by the one in George, the next was held Tromso, Spain, then Hyde Park, London, this was followed by the Johannesburg one and then the last one was held in New York. The performance was by the South African and the international artists from all performing from the year 2003 up to 2008.
Files of the legal firm Frank, Bernadt & Joffe concerning certain legal matters pertaining to its client, Mr. Nelson Mandela, between 1966 and 1990. These papers detail examples of his endeavours to secure rights for prisoners through challenging the legality of acts carried out by prison officers, his opposing of the state's attempt to have him struck off the role of attorneys, family-related matters, etc.

This series consists of two letters smuggled out of Robben Island in 1977. Mac Maharaj gave them to Judge Thumba Pillay of legal firm of Pillay Seedat & Co. The letters are written by Nelson Mandela and Ahmed Kathrada, both of them wishing to appoint the firm to act on their behalf in legal proceedings against the Department of Prisons. Since the authorities refused contact with their attorneys, they had to use this "illegal" method to seek legal representation. The collection includes an envelope that Judge Pillay had posted addressed to his law firm. He did this in the event that the Security Police questioned him about how he received the letters, he would be able to prove that they were posted anonymously to him. A second donation of Judge Thumba Pillay contains correspondence and documents (mainly copies) pertaining to the case of Mandela vs Minister of Prisons.
Jack Swart was Mr Mandela's warder and chef from 7 Dec 1988 to 11 Feb 1990 at Victor Verster Prison. This collection includes notes by Mandela to Swart, correspondence, photographs, recipes and menus of the food Swart cooked for Mandela, and a manuscript of Swart's life story in Afrikaans. It includes a video clip of the drive from the Victor Verster House to the prison gates that Mandela would have taken on 11 Feb 1990 when he was released.
The collection consists of a report of 3 visits by Dr Jacques Moreillon as ICRC Delegate General for Africa to Robben Island (1973, 1974 and 1975) and his meetings with Nelson Mandela during and after his incarceration. It also includes a manuscript, “Moments with Madiba”; a letter to Mandela dated 25 April 2005; and a brief resume of Moreillon, dated 2009. The report and manuscript cover the period 1963-2004, focusing on 1973 onwards.

The Conference Connection donated food and gifts to St Martins’ Children’s home and blankets to Reservoir Hills residents in Durban The DEC planted trees. Scorpion Legal Protection provided lunch to the Durban Children’s Home Free State Treasury planted trees A baby named after Mandela Moyo restaurant took party packs, face painters and drummers to the Umthombo Street Children in Durban and the Charlotte Maxeke hospital in Johannesburg. They also provided entertainment at a care centre for disabled children in Khayelitsha. Roedean School collected blankets and food for organisations which care for orphans and vulnerable children.

The legacy of Nelson Mandela was given wings with the unveiling of the Mandela Day logo by South African Airways (SAA) on the first aircraft of its entire fleet. The new branded A330-200 Airbus, fourth out of six new aircraft, was revealed to sponsors and the media at the airways’ technical park in Johannesburg. Dialogue by the ''Save the Children UK Foundation'' with representatives of government, civil society, schools and communities gathered in the small town of Clarens, the Free State, discussing how schools could care for children made vulnerable by poverty, HIV/AIDS and other causes. Schools visited during the dialogue were in Qwa Qwa.
Third Malibongwe dialogue with struggle stalwarts at the Turbine Hall in Johannesburg. The Malibongwe Dialogue, with and about stalwarts of the struggle for freedom, and the role that women played during those difficult, and often truly dark, years, achieved a remarkable level of candour, unmindful of organisational or ideological loyalties.
