The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) launch its first commemorative banknote series, in celebration of the first democratically elected president Nelson Mandela’s birth centenary. The 11th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture with Doctor Mo Ibrahim. The event was held at the University of South Africa (UNISA) on the 17th of August 2013. The theme for the lecture was “Building social cohesion”: a call for all South Africans to work towards a united, cohesive, democratic and national society.
