Proceedings of a symposium / workshop by Mandela and Shuttleworth Foundations. The symposium was divided into two sessions the first session focused on searching for effective ways of assessing and measuring social change. It explored ways in which organisations in the non governmental sector can stop relying on donors and contribute to social investments. Different scenarios are explored on how to bring practices from the the corporate sector to the non corporate sector and be to bridge the gap between the haves and the have nots.

The program focuses on people coming to test and receiving counseling and getting education and the use anti- retrovirals. Community members speak about how they got tested and know about their HIV/AIDS status and about the staff shortage challenge in their local clinic.

Nelson Mandela Foundation: Press conference on the launch of A dream for Africa campaign

Proceedings of a press conference on A dream for Africa campaign launch. A partnership between the Nelson Mandela Foundation, UNICEF and the Humberg Society. The initiative is focusing on education and challenges that are faced by vulnerable children in a war torn areas, those affected by poverty and many other socilal ills that negatively impact on schooling and education. In the conference there is a recording of Nelson Mandela where Madiba mentions that no children in Africa or anywhere in the world should be denied education. The campaign will be in South Africa, Angola, Malawi,Mozambique, Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation HIV/AIDS programme visit one of the sites in Lusikisiki the programme manager Dr Connie Kganakga, CEO John Samuel and Dr Heiko Roel visit the village clinic in Lusikisiki and are taken on a tour of the clinic. The sister shares experiences with the Foundation staff and tells them of the programmes successes and challenges. In the clinic there are several activities such as the importance of support groups, there is know your status campaign with people disclosing their HIV/AIDS statuses and the talks that discourage stigma towards the people who have the HIV virus.
