Hands Across South Africa aided the Nelson Mandela Foundation to continue to grow the momentum that legacy advocates like Gareth Cliff have already inspired in order to honour the life and legacy of Madiba, and in so doing make every day a Mandela Day. "The concert" was the first 46664 concert, this was held in Greenpoint stadium Cape Town, South Africa. Recorded from videotapes from 46664/1 to videotape 46664/55. The videotapes are in folders 1 and 2. Each videotape is recorded in three formats. The first format being the use copy MP4. format followed by the MOV. format which has a higher quality followed by the MXF which is broadcast quality. The reason for this is to provide for use copies and also to provide for broadcast quality whenever it is needed.

A public launch by the Nelson Mandela Foundation held at the Donaldson Orlando Community Centre (now called YMCA). The Foundation launched a logo that will be the symbol of all the Nelson Mandela centenary activities. Seven schools were invited to the launch.
