The opening of a new exhibition to mark 50 years since the formation of the Umkhonto weSizwe, the armed wing of the African National Congress. In Pursuit of Liberty: Legality vs. Justice exhibition was launched at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in association with Pambili Productions and South African History Online (SAHO).
The legacy of Nelson Mandela was given wings with the unveiling of the Mandela Day logo by South African Airways (SAA) on the first aircraft of its entire fleet. The new branded A330-200 Airbus, fourth out of six new aircraft, was revealed to sponsors and the media at the airways’ technical park in Johannesburg. One Law, One Nation: Conversation on the Constitution for the 15th Anniversary of the Constitution. The panel consisted of Yvonne Mokgoro, the former Constitutional Court judge, Leon Wessels, former Deputy Chairperson of the Constitutional Assembly, Wim Trengove QS, Lwando Xaso, former clerk of the Constitutional Court and the facilitator Nikiwe Bikitsha.
