The material was separated with the intention to send it back to the National Archives. The process has been very long and the Nelson Mandela Foundation decided to accession it for accountability purposes.

A tribute concert in honor of Nelson Mandela at St Paul the Apostle Church in New York City celebrating his life and legacy, and the 20th anniversary of democratic freedom in South Africa.
Morgan Freeman performed dramatic readings from the original transcripts of Mr. Mandela's letters, speeches, and personal writings. These readings were accompanied by the world-famous Soweto Gospel Choir, who filled the cathedral with songs that honoured Mandela’s life and vision.
President Bill Clinton gave a special tribute speech to Nelson Mandela and the work of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, celebrating Mr. Mandela's life and all that has been accomplished in South Africa in the twenty years since democracy was realized.
