The 11th of February 2020 marked the 30th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's release from Victor Verster prison. To commemorate the day, the Nelson Mandela Foundation hosted three connected events in the Western Cape, all of which considered the "new Prisons of Africa" that have come to define life for many, and focus on how to achieve substantive liberation.
