Airbnb Shoot, 2019.11, Johannesburg:[Set of 349 Still Images]

The shoot was for a new experience on Airbnb, which will include guests doing a Mandela day activity

Day 1 at Boys and Girls club in Betrams. There were volunteers that posed as Airbnb guests to do the experience, which is Mandela Day, assisting the woman that prepares food for the children and learning to play the Marimba instruments.

Day 2 at Siyakhala garden. Mandela day experience where the guests are required to work in the garden.

On the 8th of March 2022, the Nelson Mandela Foundation hosted an event to promote the recently published memoir of internationally renowned filmmaker Anant Singh, in partnership with Sanctuary Mandela. In conversation with Anant was internationally lauded South African anti-apartheid activist, actress, poet, director and author, Gcina Mhlope, and iconic South African musician and composer, Caiphus Semenya. The Foundation’s Chief Executive, Sello Hatang, facilitated the discussion.

The Concert for Refugees was dedicated to the strength and courage of refugees. The aim of the concert was to encourage public awareness and support of the refugees through this celebration. The concert was organised by Turquoise Harmony Institute (THI) and the Nelson Mandela Foundation, and other institutions.

A book about Samora Machel was launched at the Nelson Mandela Foundation, entitled "Samora Machel". Sylvia Graham was the facilitator and key speakers were Sello Hatang, Albie Sachs, Andre Odendaal, Graça Machel, Shan Balton, and Alves Gomes.
