Bandleader Francisco Arcón dedicated a song "Answer" 2018 to Nelson Mandela on his 100 birthday. On the 18th of July 2020, the band published the music video on YouTube to this song, to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day 2020. The video is available on all streaming portals.

South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr. Naledi Pandor was in Uganda for the unveiling.
South Africa and Uganda have strong ties dating back to the struggle against colonialism and apartheid. Uganda hosted and trained South African anti-apartheid activists and freedom fighters in the late 1980s. Minister Pandor described the statue as a fitting tribute to the strong relationship between the two countries.

Mandelia mirocornata has only been recorded along the coast line of the Cape Peninsula.
The application to name an asteroid in honour of Nelson Mandela was turned down because the rule about asteroid naming is that asteroids cannot be named for politicians until 100 years after their deaths.
