2013 Dole Leadership Award

Mandela addressed the Willesden Trades Council in 1962. The honour was supposed to have been conferred in April 1990 when Mandela visited Brent but it failed to get the necessary support. Hence this was only done in 2013.

The City Parliament of Montevideo honoured Mr Mandela by adding his name to the 'walk of fame' section in the pedestrian zone in the Old City. Mr. Mandela is the 5th foreigner to be bestowed this honour.A granite tile with his name underneath the image of the sun was unveiled on 26 October.
