President of France, François Hollande and First Lady, Valerie Trierweiler meeting with Mrs Graça Machel and Minister Jeff Radebe, welcomed by Chief Executive Officer of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Sello Hatang. In their discussion, First Lady, Ms Trierweiler, supported the Stand Up for African Mothers Campaign, which Mrs Machel promotes in her capacity as patron. After the discussion, Mrs Machel accompanied President Hollande and Ms Trierweiler on a guided tour of the Foundation including a visit to the archive of Mr Mandela’s private papers.

Jack Swart, Manfred Jacobs & Brian Sickle visiting the NMF and heritage sites in Johannesburg. Zandile Myeka an Archivist at the Nelson Mandela Foundation interviewed Jack Swart on his experience being Madiba’s warder at his last prison, now called the Groot Drakenstein Correctional Centre. During the interview, the Nelson Mandela Foundation staff interacted with Oom Jack on the life & times of Madiba at Groot Drakenstein.

Day 1 at Boys and Girls club in Betrams. There were volunteers that posed as Airbnb guests to do the experience, which is Mandela Day, assisting the woman that prepares food for the children and learning to play the Marimba instruments.
Day 2 at Siyakhala garden. Mandela day experience where the guests are required to work in the garden.
