Record Group FSSSF - 46664 Collection

The collection consists of photos, audio, and video material from the 46664 concerts held in different parts of the world. The first concert was held in Greenpoint Stadium, Cape Town on the 29th of November 2003. This concert was followed by another one in the Western Cape in Fancourt, George on the 19th of March 2004. The next was held in Madrid, Spain for two days from the 29th April until the 1st of May 20005 followed by a concert in Tromso, Norway on 11th of June also in 2005. The next one was held on World AIDS Day on the 1st of December in Johannesburg in 2007. The following was held in London Hyde Park on the 27th of June 2008. The final concert was held in Radio city hall in New York on the 18th July 2009 declaring the annual Nelson Mandela Day by the United Nations

The number 46664 was Nelson Mandela's prison number, he was prisoner number 466 of 1964. Nelson Mandela used the number for the eighteen years during imprisonment in Robben Island. In Robben Island Nelson Mandela was supposed to be reduced to just a number. The was a danger in reducing the people who live with HIV/AIDS to be reduced to mere numbers when Madiba has allowed prison number 46664 to be used for the campaign to fight against HIV/AIDS.
The 46664 concerts were a unique global initiative using music and technology to reach out to as many audiences as possible.
