Attends a session of the extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet to decide whether the elections on KwaZulu - Natal should proceed as scheduled on 29 May 1996. The meeting begins at 14h00.
The President returns to Gauteng later in the day.
Tuesday, 7 May 1996
At 10h30, the President will attend the graduation ceremony at the ORT - STEP College at Eskom Conference Centre, Dale Road, Halfway House.
In the afternoon, he will depart from Waterkloof Airforce Base to Cape Town.
At 18h00, the President will hold talks with delegations from SADTU, NAPTOSA and CTPA. The meeting will take place at Genadendal.

The President will participate in the activities arranged to mark the adoption of the final Constitution. See CA programme for details.
Thursday, 9 May 1996
President Mandela will address a breakfast meeting organised by the Cape Town Press Club at which there shall also be members of the Foreign Correspondents Association in attendance. The breakfast shall be at the Cape Sun and will commence at 07h00.
At 09h00, the President will visit Mitchell's Plein and Nyanga to attend school renovation projects.
At 16h00, he will attend a meeting of the officials of the ANC.
At 18h00, the President will attend a meeting of the National Working Committee of the ANC.
