Gold medal with attached red rope inside rectangular black fabric box. Interior of lid is lined with white satin fabric. Box bottom is lined with black velvet.
Front of gold medal has an emblem depicting the seal of Mexico City (2 lions and a castle).
Back of medal is engraved, in silver, and in Spanish, with the following text:
