Whereas this proclamation was authorized by United States Senator John B Breaux as a genuine expression of his commendation of Nelson Mandela . President Emeritus of the Republic of South Africa.
Whereas President Nelson Mandela has fought against descrimination against blacks and descrimination against whites nd has served as a Civic Leader, Political Leader, Policy and Peace Maker throughout the world.
Whereas President Nelson Mandela Provides Exemplary services to the international community and is known as citizen of the world.
Whereas President Mandela received the Nobel Peace Prize and has been awarded more than 50 honorary degrees throughout the world and most recently accepted Honorary Doctoral Degrees from Southern University A&M and Louisiana State University A&M.
Be it further resolved that Nelson Mandela has inspired the citizens of the state of Louisiana with his untiring commitment to further human rights.
Now, therefore, I, John B Breaux, United States Senator of the State of Louisiana, do hereby on this day May 12, 2000, express gratitude on behalf of the citizens of Louisiana for the heroic presence that President Mandela bestows upon all of us.
