Cream-coulored certificate with blue and gold mat, with gold "Ryerson University" on the former, in gold frame. Taken out of frame for preservation
Certificate includes the multi-coloured seal of Ryerson Polytechnic Univesity and the gold seal of the university. Certificate text is in black and reads:

The Chancellor and academic council of Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Canada, has awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) with all the rights and privileges attendant thereon to Nelson Mandela
