Transnet Port initiative: Shoes on Feet campaign, 2016.02.19, Umlazi: [Set of 14 Still Images]

Transnet Port Terminals, in partnership with Mandela Day, have created an initiative called “Shoes on Feet”, which aims to collect school shoes for disadvantaged children in key communities. "Shoes on Feet" volunteers distributed the first donations to learners at Isidingo Primary School in Umlazi Township, Durban, before moving to schools in Port Elizabeth and the Western Cape during March.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation distributing solar lanterns to Kwa-Zulu Natal communities donated by Panasonic. Yase Godlo Director of Mandela Day and Special Projects and Joe Ditabo Facilities Supervisor at the Nelson Mandela Foundation addressing and educating the communities’ members on how to utilise the Panasonic solar lanterns.

Nelson Mandela Legacy Ride4Hope annual charity bike ride from Soweto to Pietermaritzburg

Ride4Hope embarked on their annual bike ride, covering over 500 kilometres starting in Soweto, Johannesburg and making its way through the Free State, Drakensberg and finishing at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site in KwaZulu-Natal. The 2022 edition had over 70 cyclists from all walks of life joining hands to raise funds for the Nelson Mandela Foundation, as well as schools and charitable causes along the route.
