In Uganda, a statue of the African icon was unveiled. The statue is a half figure of the African icon wearing his famous Madiba shirt. South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr. Naledi Pandor was in Uganda for the unveiling.
South Africa and Uganda have strong ties dating back to the struggle against colonialism and apartheid. Uganda hosted and trained South African anti-apartheid activists and freedom fighters in the late 1980s. Minister Pandor described the statue as a fitting tribute to the strong relationship between the two countries.

The Nelson Mandela Park is a public park in Leicester, England. It is situated inside the city centre near Leicester Prison and the Leicester Tigers' Stadium. It was known as Welford Road Recreation Ground before it was renamed to celebrate Nelson Mandela.

The murals were illustrated by Artist Linsey Levendall. His illustrations were based on photographs of the great men by Matthew Willman (Mandela) and Andrew Zuckerman (Tutu). On the 7th Of June 1990, on his first trip abroad after imprisonment, Nelson Mandela visited the City of Paris and gave a speech. He was received like a head of state, although he was not one at the time. Accompanied by Mama Winnie Madikizela Mandela, that trip to France came with a clear message that "France must support a new & reformed South Africa". Four years later, Nelson Mandela became the first black democratic President of South Africa. A few weeks after his election, François Mitterr became the first Head of State to be received on an official visit by Madiba. The garden was opened in May 2018, after 5 years of work. Zandile Myeka, a Metadata and Photographs Archivist at the Nelson Mandela Foundation visited the garden in July 2024, and took photographs of the €40 million, four hectares green space garden.

The score music tribute to Nelson Mandela 100 concert commemorated Nelson Mandela’s Life and Legacy, calling for people in the world over to rise up and “Take Action, Insipre Change, Make Every Day a Mandela Day”. To commemorate this historic occasion, the Nelson Mandela Music Tribute (NMMT) on 18, 19 & 20 July at Praia do Aterro, Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal benefited the Nelson Mandela Foundation and local Portuguese charities including Apela.
The event was presented by the Municipality of Matosinhos / Porto and the Embassy of South Africa together with Score Music in association with Thirty-Three Productions, Inc., which joined together to organise a fitting musical tribute to Mandela and his legacy of achieving social change through peaceful means and dialogue.
