Whereas the inhabitants of Beaufort West are duly aware of and have great appreciation for the fame which you as a son of Africa gained for your commitment, dedication, and contribution to the Liberation of all South Africans, both Black and White.
And whereas there exists great appreciation for the exceptionally competent manner in which you guided the struggle of the oppressed masses in South Africa, it is the wish of the local ANC Branch and all Mass Democratic Movement Forces together with the inhabitants of Beaufort West to express their gratitude and recognition of these attributes and it is hereby proclaimed that by virtue of the oppressed people empowered by your firm stance for Frededom and Democracy to confer upon
